The combination for bus that goes between Split airport and the port of Split and the public catamaran boat connecting port of Split and port of Hvar town is the most common route to get to Hvar.
The port of Split is very centrally located, with less than 5 minutes walk to historical centre of city of Split with the UNESCO World Heritage listed houses and palaces.
Equally the port of Hvar is very central as the whole town was build around the port and the houses and hotels are on both sides of this port.
The direct transfers between Split airport & Hvar are limited to small private speedboats that are pretty costly and may be not applicable to sea-sickness sensitive people.
The Split airport is also know as Resnik airport or in Croatian as Zračna Luka Split. It is located in the town Kaštela, 15-35 minutes driving time from central Split.
There is no direct public transfer from Split airport to Hvar (nor to town of Hvar neither to island of Hvar). There is public bus to central Split and catamaran service during peak tourist season.
Nearly all flights to Split airport are seasonal, with Croatia Airlines, easyJet, Norwegian, Scandinavian Airlines and Volotea being among the airlines with most flights.
